Four new prints up for sale. Check it out folks, thanks!
Shit I don’t know. Good question…
I just try to explore and basically cop bits of stuff from people who blow me away. I’m too inexperienced of an artist to be actively trying to lock down a distinct style – I don’t think that’d be smart to do either at this point, personally.
So I definitely think I haven’t nailed that down and I don’t like replicating a process I’ve already tried, but people still seem to be able to tell that a piece is mine from looking at it. So I don’t really know where my “style” comes from, nor can I clearly see what that is exactly… I do take a very intuitive and imperfect approach to everything though, so maybe that ruggedness you mentioned is what ties it together… Does that make sense? Thanks for the ask. I never thought about it.

A note about what’s going on: I have no idea what’s going on. There are some moments in here that I didn’t want to lose by addressing overall tonal completion. So, I’m going to let this one stand, and hopefully it’ll inform aspects of the portraits that follow.
A portrait of myself done by the talented Mike Creighton. I love the unfinished right side. Cheers Mike
